Executive Protection in Downtown Vancouver

MI8 is based on West Georgia Street, minutes from the financial district, the convention centre and the major hotels. Downtown is where most of our work happens: boardroom days, hotel stays, dinners, arrivals at the Fairmont Pacific Rim, the Shangri-La and the Rosewood Hotel Georgia, and the short, frequent movements in between.

The downtown core is dense, busy and well covered by cameras, which cuts both ways. A principal is rarely far from help, but is also rarely out of view. Our officers are suited and plain-clothes by default, and our drivers know the hotel porte-cochères, underground garages and one-way streets well enough to keep every movement short and, to anyone watching, unpredictable.

Coal Harbour and the West End are residential as much as they are business districts. For clients living in the waterfront towers we provide residential coverage, family details and school and office runs, coordinated with building concierge and security. The same applies on the west side: Shaughnessy, Kitsilano and Point Grey are covered from the same downtown base.

Because we are already here, response is fast. An officer or a vehicle can usually be in place within the hour, and same-day bookings are routine.

Executive protection in Downtown Vancouver

A downtown executive protection detail is usually one or two suited officers and a security driver working a principal's day: pick-up at the residence or hotel, the office, meetings across the core, lunch, the evening engagement and the return. The officer stays close and out of the way; the driver stages the vehicle so no one waits on a sidewalk.

For visiting executives we start before arrival with a hotel advance, a route check and a quiet word with the concierge and hotel security. Ongoing programs for resident principals add a written assessment and a fixed team who learn the routine and can spot what is out of place.
